With the exception of the picture below of Adam waiting for the bus, all of these shots are taken from the deck of the Cliffhanger. And all of them, with the exception again of the last two moon shots, were taken at sun break. There is no daylight savings time here in the USVI. The number of daylight hours does not vary much from season to season. On the shortest winter days the sun rises at around 6:30 am and sets at approximately 5:30 during the summer the days are almost 2 hours longer.
Adam leaves the house to wait for his bus at 6:10 am, Chris leaves for the site at 6:45. Coffee is served on the deck at 6. There are occasional mornings when I miss the moment of transition but not many and if I do I always regret it. Sometimes we have company for those few moments. Graham was a regular before he moved to a new work site and Graham carries a bottle of bubbles with him.
The passage of night to day takes a brief 15 to 20 minutes. On most days the sky then becomes a light bright blue, the sun becomes blinding and we look for shade.
